The Youth MRF candidate - Antoaneta Asenova – was elected for President of the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC). This happened during the organization's first digital congress which gathered 130 young people. The young liberals elected in addition members of the Bureau of the organisation and delegates to represent it at the upcoming ALDE Party Congress, which will be held in Stockholm, Sweden this fall. Among the elected delegates is Tanzer Yuseinov, member of Youth MRF.
This is yet another success for Youth MRF after the election of Ilhan Kyuchyuk as Vice President of ALDE, Gyulfie Arnaudova and later, Syuleyman Shaban as Vice President of the International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY).
"I am extremely thankful to Youth MRF for the nomination and I am grateful to the LYMEC member organizations for the trust and support. This is not an easy moment - the Coronavirus pandemic has put a strain not only on our health systems, economic stability and labour markets - which inevitably always has an influence on youth unemployment - but it also has an impact on the solidarity between our societies”, the newly elected President of LYMEC pointed in her closing speech.
"I would like to congratulate LYMEC on the creativity and ambition to hold their congress digitally for the first time. In doing so, the young liberals have shown that they have the necessary potential and readiness to play a key role for the future of Europe. This success is a huge recognition, but also a great responsibility, and we are aware of it. I am thankful to all who believed in us! We promise we will not disappoint you", commented Youth MRF President, Ilhan Kyuchyuk.

**Antoaneta Asenova has been a member of the Bureau of the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) since April 2018. Since 2014, she has been working as an accredited parliamentary assistant to the MRF delegation at the European Parliament. She was a candidate on the MRF list at the last European elections. Antoaneta holds a LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Tulane University, USA and a Master of Laws at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria.
